This website provides information on a United States Forest Service Decision to remove domestic sheep from parts of the Idaho portion of the Hells Canyon area during the 2007 grazing season. This site contains the following:

  1. A story written by Joseph Shirts about the heartache felt when a family has to sell their livestock.
  2. A copy of an agreement sent to the Idaho Wool Growers Association and signed by Government Agencies and The Foundation for North American Wild Sheep.
  3. A copy of a declaration made by a signor of the agreement in item 2 above.
  4. A section of Idaho Statute regarding Transplant of Bighorn Sheep.

This website was created to inform interested parties. Please contact Washington or Adams County Commissioners, an Idaho State Representative or the Governor of Idaho to get Idaho Fish and Game to remove Bighorn Sheep from effected areas until the purported disease transmission issue is resolved and if you don't want to support this removal, then to truly hold the domestic sheep operators harmless, as was committed by an Idaho Statute and by the 1997 agreement.
